Polyester Fiber is a category of polymers that contain an ester functional group in each repeat unit of the main chain. Most commonly, this term refers to polyethylene terephthalate. This fiber has many uses and is widely used in textiles, clothing, and construction. Its properties include durability and strength, and are highly resistant to abrasion and wear.
To make polyester, textile manufacturers use substances derived from coal and petroleum. These materials include dimethyl terephthalate and ethylene glycol. These substances are combined and allowed to cool, forming long, thin ribbons. The fibers are then chipped into tiny pieces and then placed in a spinneret, which is similar to a showerhead. A spinneret containing dozens of tiny holes then separates each polyester fiber into its constituent parts. This method produces polyester fibers that are strong and stable.
Chemical reaction

Dyeing

These compounds work together to reduce migration and improve the fastness of the fabric to washing. In addition, they reduce the likelihood of dye reduction and migration.
